PAGASA Weather Update: LPA Spotted Near Mindanao

State weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted 350 km east of Davao, Oriental (7.5°N, 130.0°E) at 10:00 am today, November 11, 2012.

PAGASA said this weather system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains (5.0 – 15.0 mm/hr) and thunderstorms in Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao particularly over the eastern Visayas, CARAGA region, northern Mindanao and Zamboanga del Norte which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Residents in these areas are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures, the weather bureau added.

The next update will be incorporated in the public weather forecast at 5:00 pm today while the next advisory will be issued at 11:00 am tomorrow.
